Pour moi, il a été plus qu'un professeur de guitare, ça je m'en rends compte bien des années après. J'ai maintenant des enfants qui vont au conservatoire, et les conseils d'Antonio, je les leur donne à présent. Antonio reste un artiste à part, qui ne cherchait pas la notoriété. Il a beaucoup donné et joué son rôle d'enseignant dans, parfois, de modestes lieux, et c'est tout à son honneur. J'espère qu'il se porte bien. Amicalement. Monsieur Membrado était alors mon professeur au Conservatoire de Bourg-la-Reine. Ces souvenirs restent très présents. Je me suis depuis éloigné de la musique mais je joue toujours avec beaucoup de plaisir, grâce à lui sans doute. Une légèreté de style inimitable... I am lucky to have the LP with the 2 Bach-Suites, and on comparing the sound of the CDs with the LP, I find that the mastering has cut the higher frequencies to a considerable degree. This means that the silvery tone of Antonio Membrado, rich in overtones, that I like so much, is barely audible on the CDs, they sound rather noisy and thus do not do good service to the excellent interpretations, esp. of Bach and Villa-Lobos. As Amazon currently offers 2 of the CDs remade in 2005, I would like to ask you, do you know, wether these are mere re-pressings of the 1995-lot, or new masterings with a larger frequency range? Otherwise I do not want to criticize in any way the superb interpretations, also the early music is played head above shoulders compared to other guitarists, as they are played in a style more like lute than guitar.
